a good secure password...

Me: Hi, I need to log in under your account to finish setting up your computer. Would it be alright if I reset your password to "abcd"?
User:That's already my password!

Sure enough, it was.

Sometimes I wonder... I really do.

Oh, this user is our Executive VP of Sales.

Welcome...

Welcome to Letters from Tech Support.

Users are our friends, family and coworkers. Without the user we would have no job.

But...

Tech support can be a stressful job. Between unreasonable expectations, ignorance, looming deadlines and everyone coming at you from every angle sometimes we need to let off some steam. We do that, oftentimes, by making fun at the user's expense. That is the purpose of this blog... blow off some steam and highlight some of the things that make this job interesting.

If you are a "user", this blog might not be for you. But take heart, were not talking about you... were talking about the other users.
